Below is a list of the ministries where YOU can get involved at The Gateway Church. Take a look through each of the tabs to learn more about the ministry on the tab and a description of the responsibilities. After the ministry descriptions is an Application to Serve form that you can fill out and submit to let us know where you would like to serve.

The Hospitality Team helps everyone who comes through the door of our church feel welcomed and valued.

(one or two Sundays a month – 3 hour commitment)

  • Greets everyone who comes through the doors of our church. Answers questions and help direct people to bathrooms, kids areas, guest center, etc.
  • Be able to smile, offer a handshake, and welcome people in.
(one or two Sundays a month – 3 hour commitment)

  • Prepares the coffee service on Sunday mornings and ensures the coffee, hot water, and other supplies remain stocked/filled throughout the morning. Keep refreshment area clean and refreshed.
  • 2nd service team helps to keep an eye on the refreshment area between services and clean up & put away the coffee service/supplies after the conclusion of 2nd service.
  • Be able to operate the coffee machines (training provided).
(one or two Sundays a month, 2-4 hour commitment)

  • Help new families get their children entered into our check in system and guide them to the kids areas. Answer questions and help new people to find assistance as needed.
  • Accept connection cards and distribute new guest gifts. Enter new guest information from the connection cards into the system and get them set up to receive automated text messages.
  • Need to be able to use a computer and tablet/iPad in addition to being friendly and helpful.
(one or two Sundays a month – 4 hour commitment)

  • The Bus Ministry assists people with rides to and from church on Sunday so that they can Connect with God and others during service.
  • Able to keep all traffic laws and provide a timely and safe trip for guests to and from church.
  • Has an up-to-date driver’s license, with little or no points on license, and has completed a background check.
  • Can keep a schedule and field calls from guests needing a ride, and plan a route accordingly.

Gateway Kids helps kids from birth through fifth grade connect with God, with others their age, and with the world.

All adults who work with children will be background checked.

(15 min before + one service a month, 2 hour commitment)

  • All parents who have a child from birth through kindergarten are encouraged to co-op with this ministry and serve at least once a month.
  • Adult women, single or married, who have a passion and heart to teach and serve children from various backgrounds and home lives.
  • Is able to lead a room full of children in a lesson, game and craft activity.
(15 min before + one service a month, 2 hour commitment)

  • Anyone 6th grade through adult, including the spouse of an Early Childhood Leader.
  • Able to help the Leader with lessons, games, and craft activities.
(15 min before + one service a month, 2 hour commitment)

  • Actively following Jesus and able to engage with elementary students from all walks of life.
  • Have the ability to maintain control of the room, and run the Bible Bucks Store when needed.
  • Able to build meaningful relationships with kids and lead small group discussion.
(one service a month, commitment TBD)

  • Any adult who is willing to work alongside our Safety Team to keep our Gateway Kids Wing secure.
  • Maintain and control traffic flow between the Lobby and Gateway Kids Wing, allowing only people with kid’s tags access before, during, and after service.

The desire at Gateway Youth is to have every student develop a strong spiritual foundation – to see students become a movement of God that impacts their generation for the kingdom.

(Wednesday nights, once a week – 3 hour commitment)

  • Be present on Wednesday evenings for youth service. Can also make themselves available for youth leadership meetings, and other youth events when possible.
  • Works well within a team dynamic, being able to build relationships with students and invest in their lives.
(Wednesdays + Sundays during Connect Groups – 5 Hour Commitment)

  • Be present on Wednesday & Sunday evenings for youth service and connect group. Can also make themselves available for youth leadership meetings, and other youth events when possible.
  • Ability to lead or co-lead a small group of 5-8 students.
  • Works well within a team dynamic, being able to build relationships with students and invest in their lives.

The Creative Arts Team helps the Congregation Connect with God and glorify Him on Sundays through music and the creative arts.

(two days a week, once a month – 7 hour commitment)

  • Leads the congregation from the stage in worship through singing and/or playing an instrument.
  • Have a heart to lead worship and a proficiency in singing (melody/harmony) or playing an instrument.
  • Able to be a leader and follower of Christ on and off the stage.
(two days a week, once a month – 7 hour commitment)

  • Mixes sound for the worship team and for the live stream on Sunday mornings.
  • Meticulous personality with an ear for music and a heart to learn (training available).
(Two days a week, once a month – 7 hour commitment)

  • Changes lyrics and lighting for worship, announcements, and the sermon on Sunday mornings.
  • Attentive personality who is on the ball at all times
  • Little social interaction needed. Typically works alone or in a closed environment with sound engineer.

Connect Groups exist to help people within the church connect with each other and grow in the faith through accountability, prayer, and study material. Connect Groups are often led and hosted by the same person/family, but that is not a requirement.

(one day a week for 8 or 10-week seasons – 2 hour commitment)

  • Ability to lead a group of adults in weekly discussion and prayer for an 8-week season. The leader and group usually has the freedom to decide the curriculum and lesson of study.
  • Have willingness and capability to follow-up with 6-15 people a week for a season and pray and encourage them.
  • Have a public and private life that follows after Jesus and that people can evidently see and follow.
(one day a week for 8 or 10-week season – 2 hour commitment)

  • Able to open up your home or place of business for a Connect Group to meet for a season.
  • Keep a warm, clean, and hospital home environment that helps disarm people and make them feel at home.
